V110 Patch Read

Slay the Spire 2 V110 Patch Notes

The July 30 beta patch rewrites Silent Poison, restores Mirage and Pillar of Creation to their earlier roles, retunes seven relics, and adds keyboard-only controls. A July 31 hotfix repairs hosting a multiplayer save.

This is the practical V110 read: exact card and relic changes first, then the interface, bug-fix, and website-data consequences. Values below were checked against the English patch files and the regenerated V110 database.

Run Impact

Three changes that invalidate old assumptions

Silent Poison changed shape, not just numbers

Outbreak is now a 3-Energy Rare Skill that applies 9(12) Poison to all enemies and triggers Poison immediately. Haze adds Weak, Mirage returns to Poison-scaled Block, and Scare has become Sidestep. Old draft evaluations are no longer usable.

Created-card engines now use two different clocks

Pillar of Creation once again triggers on every created card for 2(3) Block. Regalite moves the opposite way: only the first created card each turn triggers it, but that trigger now gives 6 Block.

The patch has two release dates for a reason

July 30 contains the content and balance pass. July 31 is a focused multiplayer hotfix for a host seeing a blank screen when loading a saved run. Keeping them separate prevents a bug-fix date from masquerading as another balance snapshot.

Major Card Changes

These six cards need a new draft verdict

Each row compares the V109 role with the current V110 implementation.

Outbreak

Before: Uncommon Power, 1 Energy: whenever you applied Poison, deal 4(5) damage to all enemies.

V110: Rare Skill, 3 Energy: apply 9(12) Poison to all enemies, then trigger Poison immediately.

Haze

Before: 3 Energy with Sly: apply 4(6) Poison to all enemies.

V110: 2 Energy: apply 4(6) Poison and 1(2) Weak to all enemies. It no longer has Sly.

Sidestep

Before: Scare applied 1 Weak to all enemies, with Exhaust removed by its upgrade.

V110: Scare was renamed and rewritten. Sidestep costs 0 and gives 1(2) Energy next turn.

Mirage

Before: The V109 version no longer used enemy Poison as its Block value.

V110: Returns to gaining Block from enemy Poison, costs 1(0), and no longer Exhausts.

Abundance

Before: Created one of three Powers; its upgrade upgraded the offered Powers.

V110: Always creates upgraded Powers. Upgrading Abundance now lowers its own cost from 1 to 0.

Pillar of Creation

Before: The first created card each turn granted 5(7) Block.

V110: Every created card grants 2(3) Block, restoring the repeated trigger with a lower value.

Card Balance

Ancient cards

  • Pael's Relax rises from 15(17) to 16(18) Block.
  • Tanx's Whistle drops from 3 Energy to 2.
  • Tanx's Maul scaling rises from 1(2) to 2(3) damage per Maul increase.

Card Balance

Ironclad and Silent

  • Mangle rises from 15(20) to 20(26) damage; Pact's End rises from 17(23) to 18(24).
  • Well-Laid Plans now costs 2(1), up from 1(0).
  • Echoing Slash moves from Rare to Uncommon.

Card Balance

Regent and Necrobinder

  • Terraforming rises from 6(8) to 7(10) Vigor; Crush Under rises from 7(8) to 8(9) damage.
  • Eidolon can no longer be generated during combat.
  • Sacrifice now gains Block equal to triple Osty's Max HP instead of double; The Scythe scaling rises from 4(5) to 5(7).

Card Balance

Defect

  • Biased Cognition rises from 4(5) to 5(6) Focus; Refract rises from 9(12) to 10(13) damage.
  • Rocket Punch now reduces its cost by 1 per created Status until played instead of jumping straight to 0.
  • Synchronize no longer Exhausts, and its upgrade now raises temporary Focus from 2 to 3.

Relics

Seven relics changed value or timing

  • Toasty Mittens now asks you to choose one card in hand to Exhaust at the start of turn, then grants 1 Strength. It no longer blindly takes the top draw-pile card.
  • Seal of Gold loses 3 Gold instead of 5.
  • Beautiful Bracelet enchants 4 cards instead of 3, while each Swift enchant falls from 3 to 2.
  • Fur Coat marks 8 combats instead of 7; Signet Ring grants 888 Gold instead of 999.
  • Vakuu's Fiddle returns from 3 extra cards drawn to 2.
  • Regalite now grants 6 Block only on the first card created each turn, replacing 2 Block on every created card.

Interface and Multiplayer

V110 is more than a balance table

Keyboard-only mode

V110 adds a dedicated keyboard-only control option, clearer remapping feedback, missing-binding placeholders, and updated glyph layout. This is a new input path, not a cosmetic rename.

Map sharing

A new Share button captures the entire map. Controller navigation also prefers a connected node when Winged Boots are present.

Multiplayer behavior

Tutor can reopen a target player's ended turn. Replay softlocks involving Tutor and Imitation Learning were fixed, and the July 31 hotfix repairs the host screen when loading a saved run.

Verification Boundaries

What the current data can and cannot claim

  • Tough Egg now exposes separate initial and Hatchling HP bands in the Bestiary: 14–18 then 19–22, or 15–19 then 20–23 on tougher Ascension.
  • The Lantern Key event received a text correction. This changes wording, not event value math.
  • V109 remains available as a historical patch page. Its old values are intentionally not rewritten to look current.

FAQ

Common V110 questions

What is the biggest V110 gameplay change?

Silent Poison changed the most. Outbreak is now immediate area Poison, Haze adds Weak, Mirage scales Block from enemy Poison again, and Scare was replaced by the next-turn Energy card Sidestep.

Does an old Scare link still work?

Yes. The site redirects old Scare and Follow Through card URLs to Sidestep, preserving bookmarks while exposing the current V110 card.

Did the July 31 hotfix change cards or relics?

No. The July 31 file contains one multiplayer fix: the host screen is no longer blank when hosting a run from a save. The balance data comes from the July 30 patch.

Are V109 patch notes still available?

Yes. V109 remains a prerendered historical page, but V110 is the current update in navigation and the sitemap.
